Tips for maintaining physical activity in the holiday season

With the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, many people put their exercise aside to enjoy time with family and friends. If you are the type of person that finds it hard to get back on track, try these 5 tips

  • Include incidental exercise by picking up one item at a time and going back for the next

  • Park a block further than your destination and walk the rest of the way

  • Enjoy activities with your family and friends, such as beach cricket and a barbecue, instead of catching up over a sit-down lunch

  • Go for a walk around the block each night and enjoy the Christmas lights in your neighbourhood

  • Use your bike or walk instead of driving
